NOTE: Dont read the following questions until
after youve read the book!
- Do you know someone who is working in one occupation, when they might be
better suited for another? If so, would that person agree with your assessment?
- What are the events that spur Carly Stone’s transformation from mediator
to warrior, and ultimately, her career change? Which event gave her the ‘final
push’?
- In similar circumstances, would you (or your children) turn to family for
support while regrouping?
- Did you like or dislike the relationship between Carly and her sister, Jenny?
Why?
- Did you find Robert to be a believable character? If yes, is it realistic
that Carly could have married him to begin with – without being aware of his
true nature?
- From Carly’s point of view, what role did Trent play? Did he confuse matters?
Help things? Provide clarification on her feelings for Robert?
- At what point did you figure out who the murderer was?
- Would you rather read a story that takes place in a real locale, or a fictitious
town? Or, do you have no preference – meaning that it would depend on the
story?
- Does the fact that Fool Me Once is set in Charleston, South Carolina
add something to the story? If you’ve never been, is Charleston a place you’d
like to visit?
- How would you categorize the book? Southern fiction? Mystery? Chick Lit?
Something else?
